Free admission, tickets required. Book through Coca-Cola's online system. Limited walk-in spots may be available on the day.

Why this matters

This is the only global tour where the public can see the original FIFA World Cup trophy up close. The current trophy — in use since 1974 — is one of the most tightly controlled objects in international sport. Only World Cup winners and heads of state are permitted to touch it. Security at the Vancouver event is expected to be high.

Vancouver is the first Canadian stop on the tour.

A brief history of the cup

1966

The original Jules Rimet Trophy is stolen in England — and later recovered by a dog named Pickles.

1970

Brazil wins their third World Cup and is permanently awarded the Jules Rimet Trophy.

1983

The Jules Rimet Trophy is stolen from Brazil's Football Confederation — and never recovered.

1974

The current FIFA World Cup trophy — 18-karat gold, 36.8cm tall — is introduced and remains under FIFA's strict control in Zurich.

Vancouver is one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Events like this are part of a deliberate global build-up — putting the city in front of an international audience before the tournament begins.
